Users who sign up to "My Polar Bear" are given an on-screen virtual bear, which has to be cared for by choosing options .......

Climate change is causing the tough times to become worse for the bears. Not only is the melting sea ice causing problems enabling the bears to return to the shore, but is harder for them to find refuge, it shortens their feeding period, resulting in hungry bears. Thus bears have been attracted to human food scraps, something which can prove fatal for a bear. On average three bears have been killed every year since 1993, but only a handful of human deaths from bear attacks have ever been recorded.
